Agartala: Dec 07: Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath called a press conference at the secretariat on Tuesday evening, saying the massive transformation of Tripura TBSE schools into CBSE was destroying the free education system and teacher recruitment in the state. However, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath has claimed that it is not privatization as 25% of poor students from poor families will be given free education in such schools. Education director Chandni Chandran, said, "Teachers will be from the state education department but teachers and head teachers will be selected by the DM-committee." Ratan Lal Nath added, "We do not have any interested parties to sign the agreement yet, but we have set the stage in the interest of quality education." Such measures can greatly affect the education of girls and the education of children from poor families as most of the poor are officially discovered to be benefiting from the minimum poverty rate.
