Agartala: Jan 02: Special drives to counter Inter - State and trans - border smuggling particularly narcotics are being conducted regularly by the troops of BSF Tripura. As a result, troops are succeeding in neutralizing the nefarious designs of Narcotics syndicates. In the series of such operations in the intervening night of 01/02 Jan 2022, BSF troops foiled various smuggling bids & successfully seized 3,690 Nos Yaba Tablets, 77.8 Kgs Ganja, 1,406 Btls of Phensedyl / Eskuf Syrup, 50 Btls Liquor besides various other contraband. items and also rescued 08 Cattle heads having combined value of Rs. 28,77,024 / -. In one such operation on intervening night of 01st - 02nd Jan 2022, acting on specific BSF intelligence input, special ambush party of Border Out Post NC Nagar, Ex - 133 Bn BSF Gokulnagar seized "2,550 Nos Yaba Tablets worth Rs. 12,75,000 /. - & 09 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 45,000 / - having combined seizure value - Rs. 13,20,000 / - "under Police Station- Sonamura, Sub Div- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala. In another similar operation, on BSF intelligence input, special ambush party of Border Out Post Kamlasagar, Ex- 150 Bn BSF Gokulnagar with the help of BSF Labrador Tracker Dog namely Zareena also seized "980 Nos Yaba Tablets worth Rs. 4,90,000 / - "Under Police Station- Madhupur, Sub Div- Bishalgarh, Distt- Sepahijala (Tripura). The seized Yaba tablets were handed over to the concerned Police Stations for further course of action. Further, on the same night, based on specific BSF intelligence input, patrolling party of Border Out Post Ashabari, Ex - 150 Bn BSF Gokulnagar seized "1,400 Btls Phensidyl worth Rs. 2,61,310 / - & 42.8 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 2,14,000 / - having combined seizure value - Rs. 4,75,310 / -. "The seized narcotics were handed over to the concerned Police Station- Kalamchoura, Sub Div- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala (Tripura) for further course of action. BSF is fully committed to eradicate the menace of drugs in the State of Tripura and also seizing various contraband items during different operations on Indo - Bangladesh International Border.
